Puss in boots is superior to Shrek 3 and Shrek Forever After. It was about time that this cat got his own motion picture. We finally get to see his origin and how. Prepare yourself for some stellar cuteness.
Which applies to most of the film since it is filled with little cute animals. In that aspect, it does seem that Puss in Boots is more meant for the young ones. Still, any adult that feels young at heart will be able to enjoy it. Certainly more than the latest Shrek movies. However, that doesn't mean it's without flaws. Halfway through the film, the story loses speed and is less fun. At least I didn't care much for those unimaginative Beanstalk scenes. Luckily though, soon after the swashbuckling is in full effect again and makes you forget about them. The action scenes are top-notch as they should be. Puss also encounters a sweetheart and is unlike any other kitty he met. Even in animated form, there seems to be an amazing chemistry between Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek.
I was completely entertained by this entry in the Shrek universe. And that was a relief. Go watch this if you haven't already!
