Review Bullet to the head (2013): Even Stop! Or my mom will shoot is better than this.

genre: action

Stallone was already back but this might make me rethink if he should be !

Sylvester Stallone and Walter Hill seems like a match made in heaven. Both icons that represent the best of what the Eighties had to offer when it came to action. With the revival of the old school action film like The Expendables 1 and 2 you would think that Walter Hill and Sylvester Stallone both could provide even more fireworks.

"Last time you put me into crappy movies like this"

Sadly their team up feels lackluster at best. The bar scene in the beginning where our hero and villain meet was one full of promise. And in the final action scene there was a glimpse of what could have been. But everything in between these two scenes was average to unimpressive. Nothing is done with the premise of cop (Sung Kang) partnering up with hitman (Sylvester Stallone). Here we could have had nice bits of comedy like in 48 hours between Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. In this scene you can also see the main reason why Bullet to the Head was destined to fail. The movie takes itself far too seriously. Even some of the jokes didn't really register because of the serious tone.

I hate to say it but even Stallone's Stop! Or my mom will shoot was a better buddy movie than Bullet to the Head and that is saying something. Jason Momoa stands out as baddie and it is always a joy to see him do his thing. Other than that all I can say is that I found the overall viewing experience to be very disappointing.
