Just today I wanted to check an older message in a conversation a few months ago and found out it was one tedious affair. Scrolling back messages takes too much time and is very inefficient. While there is a search function to make it somewhat easier, it requires you to remind what you said at that time. Well, for someone who talks and types as much as I do is that almost impossible. So I figured that there must be an easier way to check older messages. And actually quite a simple one. Did you know you could back up most of the data of your Facebook account? I will tell you how.
- When logged in Facebook click on the gear
- Then click on settings
- You are now in the general accounts section where underneath the settings you can see the link to download a copy of your Facebook data. Click on it.
- It will bring you to the screen in image where you will have
to click on the download archive button.
to click on the download archive button.
- If you do this it will ask you to re-enter your Facebook password. Type it in.
- It will then prepare your download and will send you an email.
- When your download is ready you will receive a second email with a link to download where again you are going to be asked to re-enter your Facebook password.
And that is it.
