This film had me invested for twenty minutes or so. Then I got real annoyed by the father. He is a good father, but also this super-duper surgeon who completely loses it.
Sure, understandable, it's his daughter, who he loves very much. But still, he was incredibly uneven in his behaviour and therefore very unlikeable throughout the film. A lot of details are left out and slowly revealed. Normally, I would applaud such an approach. If there really was much to tell. It's pretty obvious what is going on. So the slow reveal was just sucking up the genuine thrills and tension that could have been displayed.
There are no real surprises. And the constant flashbacks and dream sequences got on my nerves. These are only effective when you really have no clue on what is going on. They can point out the detail we missed. Trust me, you won't.
Overall, this really will anger you more than offer a compelling viewing experience. So avoid it!
