Review Cobra Kai (Season 6): Redemption galore!

genre: martial arts, drama

The decision to split up the sixth season was one that dumbfounded me. It was a risky move, especially since some plot lines didn't sit well with me since season 4. The best parts were the bits with the characters of the original films. But for whatever reason they insisted on teen drama.

The first part of Season 6 ended in one hell of a cliffhanger. How does that get resolved? By more pointless drama. It's something I could have lived without. But there was a purpose to it. Most characters got a proper conclusion and more importantly they have redeemed themselves. If anything those redemption arcs touched me the most.

Still, not going to lie. Part 2 of Season 6 is filled with cool and awesome surprises. Those got me so excited. They almost made me wish for Cobra Kai to continue. I am aware that they are thinking of doing spin-offs. Not sure, if that is something I am waiting for. For me, they tied up everything as neatly as possible and that is what it should stay at.

Overall, Cobra Kai, despite some flaws, has been worth it. Definitely, a show I can recommend. Especially, for those who grew up in the 80s.
