Review Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 and 7: Just when you thought it couldn't get crazier.

genre: comic book adaptation, super hero, action, adventure, science fiction

Even if I could describe all of the events and insanity that will occur in this show I won't be able to do justice to describing the emotional impact of them. So I am not even going to attempt it.

However if you thought Season 5 was insane, you have seen nothing yet. It's such a contrast with how the show started. It was light, cheesy and a bit amateurish. However the show has matured immensely by completely embracing the comic book roots of Marvel and tapping into the spirit of many story lines even if they have been altered somewhat to make them accessible for a larger audience. Previous season was filled with many surprises. The last two seasons aren't that different. Except they have kept things more intimate and personal. Most of the characters from Season 5 return to have their stories concluded. Are their stories wrapped up nicely? Well, let's say that the way things end for them will give you closure enough for some of them. I secretly do hope that rumours are true and our beloved S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will return in the MCU where they belong.

While at times it did look like the show was on budget constraints it often wasn't afraid to embellish with beautiful eye candy and spectacle. In combination with the excellent writing you will be invested. Especially since even when things get super dire the show is not afraid to have fun. Actually I think some characters really get a rough treatment even when they are integral and more deserving purely because of their actions. Deke Shaw comes to mind. He was someone who deserved better treatment overall. He easily is one of the characters I liked the most. Same goes for Enoch. Another character who has been very pivotal in many events but who doesn't get the credit for it as much as he should. Without them the agents surely would have failed. So shout out to them.

As far as I am concerned this show could have go one much longer. It seemed like the writers very capable of building on older stories and yet giving you new drama to sink your teeth in. Alas, the end is here and it's marvelous. A wonderful conclusion. And if by now you still haven't watched the show yet, go watch it. You will be rewarded!
