Review Silent Rage (1982): You can regard this as one of the best Chuck Norris has made!

genre: action, crime, horror

It's my guess they were trying to expand on Chuck and his acting. And while he is not bad, he is clearly out of his depth. Director Michael Miller very wisely lets the real actors do their thing so that you will hardly notice that Chuck is not in this film as much as you would like.

Ron Silver, Steven Keats, Stephen Furst and others make you forget that it should be Chuck asking the proper questions. They do let Chuck be a stud and convince an ex to date with him again. I don't know about you, I have no idea how many women found him attractive and if he had charm like that in the first place. Then again, the guy who can kick ass like he does must develop a lot of confidence, so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibilities. So what is the other element that requires Chuck to go into this film differently? It's the slasher / horror elements. Deceased serial killer John Kirby gets injected with some super serum that awakens him. They already had a lot of trouble putting him down when he was alive, imagine how hard they will struggle now he is undead. Perhaps they were trying to go for the unstoppable killing machine like Jason Voorhees or The Terminator. He keeps coming back and back and.... Had they shown this in more detail where at one point Chuck Norris admitting that he doesn't know what to do and then to as an experiment chop off his head. I think this film would have been far better. As it is, it takes far too long for Chuck to even realize who he is fighting against and how to properly defeat him.

Fortunately, there is a classic Chuck Norris scene where Chuck defeats an entire bar of bikers by himself while waiting for backup. The minute he requested backup, I knew that they would be too late. This scene is definitely a highlight, if not THE highlight, of the film. You can also see that Norris is much better in his element to do this kind of thing. I do think that despite the fact that Norris is not that familiar with horror, you could regard Silent Rage as one of his best. It might be a little slow in paces, but it was never boring.
