Hatchet 2 is a very solid sequel. Only a little different from the original. The original successfully combined humour and suspense in a way that it was thrilling and scary. In this sequel both humour and suspense is tied to the gory killings. Heads and arms chopped off or mashed, bodies cut in half, you name it, it's there. Very gruesome and over the top, but so hilarious. Problem is that there is too much focus on the gore and blood and not enough on building tension. Combine that with less interesting characters and you will see this second part is flawed. That being said, from start to finish you will be entertained. How can you not be with horror veteran Tony Todd named Reverend Zombie and Kane Hodder as Crowley.
