Review Final Destination 2 (2003): It's worth your time!

genre: horror, slasher

Like in the original, the main character gets a premonition and avoids some deaths to occur. Unlike in the original, Kimberly Corman (played by A.J. Cook) can count on some people to help her, especially a returning character, Clear Rivers (Ali Larter).

It's fun to see that the sixth part in the franchise isn't as random as people might think. A lot of elements from that film have taken some from the previous ones, so there is a consistency to the rules set by Death. Clear Rivers, also has locked herself up to avoid being killed and has clearly been very effective. Yes, pun intended. In this part is where they upped the blood, gore and creative deaths, and let's face it. That is what most fans tune in for. And it's good. The opening sequence alone can be considered one of the best, if not the best, in the entire franchise. Although one could argue that Bloodlines tops that and the other deaths.

You aren't going to get real surprises in this one. It's a repeat of the premise with slightly better pacing and better thrills. Although, I would say that it's on par with the original. It's worth your time!
