Review The Wrath of Vajra (2013)

genre: martial arts, action

It is astonishing how some films slip under the radar where as others get all the hype. The Wrath of Vajra is a good martial arts flick that somehow is being dismissed as average or generic. Let me tell you that it is far from that. This film does what the best of martial arts films are supposed to do. Display some of the finest fighting put in a context that the viewer can relate to. The most hard hitting fight scenes are combined with dramatic elements in a way that you feel for the characters when something happens to them. The story while very simple is sincere and serves as a thread for the action scenes. The action is never boring. And actually manages to increase the intensity and excitement. Now here and there the film does tend to drag but is something I am willing to overlook since the martial arts more than make up for that. Main character Yu Xing impresses from the minute he appears on the screen. And definitely has enough what it takes to become a huge star.  If you are craving for some excellent martial arts that is beautifully filmed than look no further. The Wrath of Vajra is just that.
