All the Friday the 13th reviews (1980 - 2009)

The Friday the 13th franchise brought us a horror icon who still is talked about today. Is he human, a zombie, ghost? Whatever he is, he wants to kill every living being on this planet and space. Do we need to know why? They tried to at first but then realized it's pointless. Besides not knowing makes it creepier and fun if you are as bloodthirsty as I am.

My thoughts so far:

Friday the 13th Part 2 is the best in the franchise. It is old school horror where suspense and tension is the main ingredient and where the gruesome killings are just icing on the cake. It's a sequel that builds on the original and then adds something unique to make it stand out.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is the worst in the franchise because it did not resonate with me at all. I was bored with it pretty much overall and I just didn't think it was fun to sit through. But hey it got dogs jumping through windows and lots of boobies, perhaps that was enough for some people.

Actually most parts have tried to add their own unique element but not all have succeeded. Although it is fun to see how the different directors viewed Jason and what he is about. Friday the 13th films might not be masterpieces but I sure understand why the franchise is so iconic and popular.
